Running club kicks off soon

The World Runs Better with F5.....

And to prove it we are pleased to announce the F5 Running Club!

The F5 running club will kick off with an 8 week outdoor training program aimed at those new to running.
Starting on Monday 12th May, the club will meet on a weekly basis from 5.15 pm in reception of our Chertsey offices.
If you are an experienced runner you are also more than welcome to meet as we will have some running routes available from the office that you may like to try, the aim will be that at the end of the 8 weeks, the club will continue to meet weekly when new, longer distance running routes will be introduced.

During the 8 weeks, sessions will include a warm up, running intervals, core strength work, functional lower body strength work, alternative cardio vascular training such as boxing/pad work and a cool down/stretch. The aims of the 8 week program include:

• Take beginners to a standard where they can run comfortably for about 30 minutes
• Focus on cardio vascular fitness levels and include specific exercises to strengthen the muscles needed for running
• Each session will be different to ensure everyone progresses as quickly as possible
• Provide nutritional advice, with the opportunity to complete a food diary which will be analysed and feedback provided
• Encourage entry into an event as motivation to continue training i.e. Race for Life and Race for Moore

Biking to work started yesterday

I measured the distance to work; its 3.8 miles or 6.11 KM.
I can currently do this in about 20-25 minutes.
This has been inspired by my company F5:-

May is just around the corner and that means that itâ€™s time for the Commute Challenge!

For those of you who donâ€™t know, the Commute Challenge is something that started in Seattle a couple of years ago in conjunction with a local bicycle club, as part of national bike to work month in the US. Anyone can participate in the challenge simply by trying to ride their bike to work (or even part way) 5 or more times during the month of May. We think this is a great initiative and want you to join in the fun!

Last year we had a great turnout â€“ 76 participants covered over 13,000 miles in 829 days worth of round trips taken by bicycle during the month of May. It was great to see F5ers have fun, get to know more people in the company, get some exercise and do a little something for the environment in the process.

Its been a while since I last posted, did some selling on ebay, infact most of the items listed in the I remember when section below.
made a small fortune and bought a Tomtom one.

The tomtom runs on linus os. so I had a look around to see what I could do to "expand" my system

Once again anyone made this work on tomtom one v3 et me know / share the compiled version.
Mine just hangs on the logo.

Talking of logo, when the tom tom boots up, you get a standard logo this can be changed with any logo you like, see this page for lots of examples and when you need to do.

Now how do you make your own logo?

Step by step instructions.

1. Google Images for "your logo".

2. Select the largest copy of the one you like and save it as a bitmap (.bmp).

3. Resize it so that the logo will fit into a 320 x 240 pixel frame

4. Adjust the canvas size to 320 x 240 pixcels.

5. Rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

6. Rename your current Splash.bmp to something else (like Splosh.bmp).

7. Rename the new image that you want to use to Splash.bmp.

8. Copy it to your SD card in the same directory as the original splash.bmp.
